Wine
with Crimean character

Our story began in 2002 with the planting of grape seedlings of such varieties as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir, grown in one of the best breeding nurseries in France. Today, the “Dom Zaharinyh” winery include 88 hectares of modern vineyards in the Crimea and its own barrel household, which includes French oak barrels made by such global manufacturers as "Seguin Moreau" and "Radoux". 7 European grape varieties grow on the vineyards, fruit-bearing vineyards include the following varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Aligote, Muscat Ottonel, Merlot, Bastardo Magarach, Saperavi, Pinot Noir. The company is headed by the winemaker Valery Zaharin, who more than 20 years ago devoted his life to winemaking.

I say thank to nature, traditions and history...

For me wine is not just a product or goods. Wine is the continuity of generations, it is the shoulders of our ancestors on which we stand...

In the center of the logo there is the figure of the Crimean winemaker’s father in military uniform - just how he went off to war back in 1944. Valery Zaharin believes that continuity plays an important role in preserving the age-old traditions of the Crimean wine-making region. And putting your name on the products is, first of all, responsibility for the quality thereof.

Terroir is not just soil on which grapes grow, but a combination of soil and climatic conditions, special characteristics of the terrain (relief, wind rose, availability of water bodies, etc.). It is the terroir that determines the quality characteristics of wine.

It is the only Valery Zakharyin’s wine with the Latin name. Wine is made from the grapes grown in the vineyard, located next to the field of the battle of the Alma, held on September 8, 1854 on the Alma River. At that time, Valery Zakharyin’s vineyards was location of the camp of Russian cavalry under the command of Major General A.I.
